Extra Information The Hamelle edition of this work is not the first edition. It came out first from Fauré's new publisher, Metzler of London, and then only a few months later from Hamelle. (Nectoux, p.56.) (1896, not 1894.) Nectoux conjectures it may have been "sketched, if not actually written out", as early as 1886, but writes that little is known [with any certainty] of it.
