Carlos Gardel. 1890-1935. was one of the leading composers and performers of tango music before Astor Piazzolla. 1921-1992. Gardel's performance of this song in the 1934 American movie of the same name is considered to be one of his most famous screen performances. In this arrangement for AATB saxophone quartet, all players take turns carrying the main melody.
