Christoph Willebald Gluck, whose reputation is based on his record as a reformer and innovator in the world of stage works, wrote two important ballets. One is the well-known Semiramide. 1765. , and other is Don Juan. 1761. , his first reform work, which was the forerunner to the famous opera Orfeo.
