Friml is famous because of a number of his operettas such as 'Rose Marie'. 1923. and 'The Vagabond King'. 1925. The most popular Donkey Serenade is an extract from his operetta 'The Firefly'. 1912. This song was even to become more popular when 'The Firefly' was turned in to the movie picture 'The Castilian Spy' by Robert Leonard in 1937.
